Musician, music teacher, bass player.
Graduated in Jazz Music (master) at the Conservatorio G.B. Martini of Bologna, I play in function bands and jazz groups.
Actually I am a teacher at the Polisuono music school of Modena; I also taught bass, theory and harmony for three years at the Agape ONLUS (non-profit organization) of Albinia.
After studying rock, funk and pop with Marco Caudai, I went on to study jazz music and improvisation at the Fondazione Siena Jazz and at the Conservatorio of Bologna. I studied with Franco Fabbrini, Roberto Nannetti, Francesco Petreni, Mirco Mariottini, Paolo Ghetti, Paolo Silvestri and, on the double bass, with Silvia Bolognesi.
Thanks to the masterclasses and the workshops I have attended, I learned from a number of great national and international musicians, among them Anders Jormin, Furio Di Castri, Omer Avital, Avishai Cohen, Roberto Cecchetto, Claudio Fasoli, Marco Tamburini, Karl Potter, Eddie Gomez, Bryan Beller, Michael Manring, Adam Nitti, Andrea Lombardini, Jeff Berlin, Massimo Moriconi, Seamus Blake and Boris Kozlov. In September 2010 my combo class and I received a prize as “best band of the workshop” at the “Seminari di Settembre” of Fondazione Siena Jazz.
I am also an ex member of the New Border Music Ensemble directed by Mirco Mariottini. I participated at the Bologna Jazz Festival 2013 with the Big Band of the Conservatorio of Bologna and I also performed at the SaxArts Festival 2012 with the SaxArts Big Band; there I played with Russell Peterson, Raleigh Dailey, Dane Richeson, Michael Zsoldos and Miles Osland (university teachers from the United States).
